Wings Of Fire

Mother is universe in herself. She is the epitome of Love, she is that time-turner which can turn belligerent times to blithe ones in a instant.

I  have met the Caring Mother, the Loving Mother, the Strict mother, the Sarcastic Mother but then i met the next kind. The Fiery yet Perturbed Mother.

Today, the tale i shall unfold before you, is not mere fiction, indeed infrequent.

So back in the months where Sun chose to shine brightly, a parrot family came to our resident. Not so very far off the hills, we were accustomed to these habitues of the barn and the lawn. The parrot couple however made their presence quite conspicuious by deciding to nesstle on the 11th floor window sill.

The chosen house was locked up for a couple of months, giving the Parrots a safe refugee. There used to be merry chirruping of these notorious birds throughout the day. Slowly but steadily, they began shaping their house.

Little twigs and broken threads found place in there nests founding. For better protection, they used their sharp beaks and sharp skills to further dig into the cemented-window sill and found a haven beneath it. To the normal eye, it would have never occured that there was a nest beneath the window sill. It just appeared as if a random pair of parrots are busy thwarting off the cementic foundation of the sill.

The haven was turned heaven, when Mrs.Parrot lay eggs and out came beautiful  chirpy  little ones. This moment of joy, was a hidden event for us though. Their haven was soon discovered, the owner of the house returned, aghast at the thwarted sill. They called for the repairs immediately, upon which what was discovered was three little Parrots. Ingenious minds, these parrots had.

The owner promptly gave away the parrot children to a care-taker who more than happily took to their nursing, in her own house, and she did it with utmost care and patience.

But the Mr.Parrot and Mrs.Parrot were shocked. How would you feel, if on coming back from work you one day discovered that your young baby is nowhere in the house?
The Parent Parrots were disturbed beyond measure. But birds, what emotional intelligence do they have, one might regard?

Mothers are Mothers, in every species. And it is the Mother's forte to be there for her child, and with her child. The Parrots were distressed, if to say the least.

And now its been 4 months since the incident, and we still see the aching Parents coming to the same window on the 11th floor and crying aloud in a desperate hope to find their children.

We ofcourse can't decipher their language, but any man with a ear to their cries, will not regard them as mere chirps. They are pangs of heart, wails of a Mother who wants to see her children at any cost.

We are still as close to the hills, as we were. But we have lost the Parrot community. No parrot now comes to sing merry songs and twirl on the wires, Now the come as a visit to a solemn spot , wailing and crying.

The pharse "Wings on Fire" Took a new form in my eyes. A mother had lost her kids, but not her faith nor her vigour. Since 4 months, the wails of the mother and the desperation in her fleet are just as painful as day 1.

I have heard people say "Time heals everything." But i guess, a mother's love is Timeless.
